The little orange "page" icon to the left of a topic's title

Postby WinnieII » Sun Oct 23, 2011 9:29 am

It took me ages to figure this out, and I assumed everyone else had already figured it out.

To get to the point in a thread where the new messages since your last reading are, click the little orange page icon to the left of the thread's/post's title.

Hope that helps!

Thanks Winnie for letting us know about this icon. I had no idea what it meant so I never clicked on it. I am now and it is so much better than going through everything again.

and now for something completely different:

The little WHITE page icon to the right of the column takes you to the LAST post in the thread.

Ah...got that off my chest!

Okay, what is the little red star at the top of some of the circles at the left?

Alison--

It's the little orange and blue colored icon that appears right before the topic title.

Martha, no, I'm talking about the red star. It's inside the circle.

I can't figure out how to make a circle, but it's kinda like this: ( *)

Sorry Alison, I misread your question. The little star indicates that there are no unread posts on that topic.

Umm, no. Actually all my circles say "no unread posts" (when I hover over them) except for the ones with the little orange "page" icon that Winnie referred to. But some of my circles have red stars!

Now that Winnie has opened this can of worms, I want to know all the answers!

I wonder if it means that I've posted something in that particular topic. In that case, Martha, almost all of your circles would have red stars.

I am sorry you guys --- but I am LMFAO in this thread...

I can almost "hear" these little voices asking the questions & then the responses.

And adonald's right, Winnie - YOU started it!

But :thanks: to all!

I'm thinking Allison's right...from the looks of mine, the star appears on threads in which I've participated...

...but here's another one...how come sometimes the "text" (lines indicating text) inside the circle is moving?

Lisa :)

NOW I see LisaKP!!! (I always thought it meant the poster was special & that's why I never got a star next to my name  )

Now I get it!

Looks like the "moving lines" thingie indicates more than 1 page...?
