Giant cell tumor-clavicle

Postby Blynn » Sun Aug 16, 2015 5:05 pm

I was 21 years old and diagnosed with GCT (one in a million) on clavicle (even rarer).
It was surgically removed and not too much info was given except it was a rare benign tumor.
I am presently 59 with a positive MRI. Looks like this thing has recurred! Almost 4o years later! Since then, I am learning that these benign tumors are very unpredictable and have a high recurrence rate. They also can metastasize to the lung. Also, they can become malignant. Benign but very destructive!
I have an appointment with an orthopedic oncologist in Sept. to discuss biopsy and possible implications.
