Pseudomyxoma Peritonei Discovered During Caesarean

Hello,

My name is Nick and I am writing here to introduce my wife Teddi.

She gave birth to our beautiful baby boy on the 20 September via Cesarean section. She had complications during the pregnancy that made the C-section necessary – namely a greatly enlarged right ovary, which was diagnosed as an ovarian dermoid. During the C-section it was revealed to not be the case. There was an extraordinarily large ovarian tumour (> 25cm) on her right ovary, with another smaller (~6-8cm) tumour on her left ovary. Both tumours were made of a mucinous material. The source of these tumours is believed to be her appendix, which was also covered in small mucous tumours. The initial diagnosis: pseudomyxoma pertinei. At this stage, we are awaiting pathology reports and have an appointment with a specialist (David Morris) in Sydney on 2 October 2013.

I’ve started this joined this webpage to do research and find support on this disease. I will stop at nothing to heal my wife and give her the best life possible. Please help me help her.
