Carolina's CCS returned in 2010 and ever since then, she has been battling it. I received an email from Carolina's husband today. The latest treatments she is undergoing has, recently, shown some positive effects. In his own words:
Carolina has been trying a number of new treatments – very time consuming, not very tasty and we just wondered if it was all a waste of time. We got the answer to that question yesterday. And WOW! We were Ecstatic! We couldn’t believe what we saw – the numbers could not have been any more perfect. Carolina’s HCG level (a hormone commonly elevated in many cancers) had been at 2.5. The upper safe limit for this is 1.0. Her number was 0.0, yes zero point zero!!!! Another enzyme we had been watching (PHI – elevated in some cancers) had been going up over the year. It was up to 57 in August, with the upper safe limit of 34. Yesterday the results showed she was at 24.9 – YAY!!!!
