Adenocarnicoma skin cancer and testicular?

Postby cwagnercarlson » Wed Oct 19, 2011 6:58 pm

My husband is 51 and recently diagnosed with Adenocarcinoma. 22 years ago he had testicular cancer that went through his lymph nodes and hit at a tumor on his neck. 3 months of chemo and 3 surgeries he was cured (I was with him then). Since then he has had 4 skin cancers (of various kinds). He found this new tumor on neck recently. We know that it is in some lympth nodes but they can't find the primary. We live in San Diego. We have been to Sharp Rees Stealy and were recently referred for a 2nd opinion to UCSD. Sharp was perplexed and was leaning towards gastrointestinal but nothing is showing up anywhere on any tests. UCSD is leaning towards a remnant of the testicular remaining dormant and now turning into a different cancer now. Sharp is leaning towards Chemo to treat it as testicular. UCSD is still doing research but their initial reaction was this if from the testicular and just doing surgery to remove the tumor WITHOUT chemo. However, they are not ruling out that skin cancer caused this. We are perplexed as this is not your "by the book" situation.
