I am asking for prayer for my son Kevin. He is 20 years old with a primary mediastianal Germ Cell Tumor in his chest. And some cells in his lungs. He went through 4 rounds of BEP Chemo and now went to Indiana University for their advice. The tumor is still active and now he will go through a round of Extensive 3 day chemo plus stem cells from his blood will be transplanted back into him after it. This has to work and bring down the tumor marker numbers. If it does he will go through the procedure a second time. This will work! Please pray for him - he is such a terrific young man and such a wonderful son. Thank you so very much.

I would like to thank each and everyone of you that have read my post and prayed for my son. He passed away on August 31, 2009. We had a journey of hope, and prayer became the foundation of this fight. So many people were affected by this young mans fight with cancer. We prayed for a miracle. Well the miracle came, but not in the way of his life, but his soul. He accepted God and Jesus and with that knowledge, as a mother, I have peace. I did not realize we were praying for that until it happened. So thank you for that.

He lived by the words Live Awesome. Through his whole fight he smiled. He enjoyed. He had 4 rounds of BEP chemo, 2 stem cell transplants w/high dose chemo, 2 rounds of oral chemo and then 2 rounds of another set of chemo drugs. He did very well on all of it - he was able to enjoy his life as much as he could. He got very tired about 2 weeks prior to his death. No pain, just coughing... coughing caused soreness.. Very short of breath too. But very coherent and gave us many blessings on learning how to live each day to the fullest. He died very peacefully. Though I am heartbroken, and grieving, I know he is in heaven. I know he is loved and he gave us so much. I will forever try to Live Awesome for him.

So everyone who reads this - thank you. Keep fighting because there is hope. There are miracles. There is love to be shared by us all.

Becky

Hi Becky,
I am sorry for your loss but happy that God did answer prayers in keeping your son with HIM!! It brings me so much happiness knowing that your son did know and accept God into his heart and now is in a much better place-HEAVEN-next to his Heavenly Father! I am saddend in the pain and sorrow that leaves you and your family. You will continue to be in our prayers! It sounds like you have have peace about it :) Sounds like Kevin tried all that he could with chemo treatments and all but God had a better plan for his life.

Thank you for shareing Kevin's motto- LIVE AWESOME!! I will also try to live by his words!! After being diagnosed with a rare cancer myself - I now know what it means to live life to the fullest!! Kevin is an inspiration to me as well!! Thank you again for sharing with us!

May God continue to give you and your family peace over the passing of your awesome son, Kevin! If you ever need anyone to talk with- I am here for you!!
May God bless you!
